Today we may witness the biggest electoral event of Venezuelan history in Caracas

If you can follow it, I will advise you to do it.  At least in Globo and occasionally on VTV which will manage to find any gap in the procession to prove that nobody showed up, even if VTV viewers of Caracas could not drive around today due to the congestion..  Reminder: I will publish pictures sent to me.

  1. On VTV they're showing some thing on Plaza Bolivar, and they read the supposed cabinet of Capriles, i only heard "Alberto Ravell, Ministro de Comunicaciones" and i knew it was bullshit. Other than that, some footage from Chavez somewhere ( "A lo largo de todo el pais").

Turn on Globovision for some of the most emotional & impressive images you will ever see. You can also get a live feed on the Internet - just go to their website.

    Hay un camino!!!

    1. yup, I'm on. Interviews are great, distance videography via web, albeit fuzzy of the crowd, is emotional. Teodoro Petkoff's earlier summary of the unity aspect of the campaign was right on the mark.

I wish there were reminders, not just the ones of 'we're going to win, no doubt about it', but calls to action, such as: 'mark your calendars and vote next Sunday. Capriles' great efforts to unite all of us throughout this campaign, deserve a little effort, a little compromise from each and everyone of us to vote him in, and to vote for a Venezuela of progress, etc.'

Anyway, that's what I'd do. I doubt there will be too many abstainers on 7O, but just in case ...

    2. Sasha Ackerman's interviews of officials and regular folk have been worthwhile. Glad that LL mentioned the 100% witness coverage, many of them risking their lives in centers known to be violent.

      Here comes Capriles ...

Daniel....don't know if it's possible but it would be great to compare pics from past rallies (in plaza bolivar) by Chavez when he was at his strongest. 2002-2006.

Daniel, what is your take on bait and switch tactic the CNE is doing with caprilles picture not registering as a vote for him.

    1. 98% of the voters will vote for Capriles on the bottom of line of the ballot. Look the current poll.

It is a non issue not worth a post, IMVHO.

It is an issue, Daniel. Never mind the fact that it's obviously done by the government to try and steal plenty of Capriles' votes. But thinking of the worst case scenario, imagine this: the machines are designed to change 15% of the votes from the real Capriles' parties to Unidad Democratica. The voter will most likely just check that the paper ballot has Capriles's name on it, so most people won't make a big deal out of it. And those who do will be told that it's not a problem because the vote went to Capriles anyway (which is a lie).

Just saw on VTV Chavez get out of his meeting in Cabimas after a few dance steps. Looked like he was suffering, quite a bit of grimacing. This dude should get himself a life.

    Daniel,
Have you heard the recording of capriles father with Cisneros? It's in the comment section of the latest Caracas chronicles post. Whats your take? Can this be used against him?
